  Gott beschütze, Gott erhalte
Unserer Völker höchstes Gut,
Karls Huld und Zita's walte
Segensreich, das Herz voll Glut.
Macht und Grösse sei beschieden
Unseren Landen immerdar;
Heil entströme, Glück und Frieden,
Oesterreichs erlauchtem Paar.
Seines Kranzes Lenzerblüten
Leuchte hell der Sonne Pracht;
Vor der Stürme rauhen Wüten
Schirme sie der Engel Wacht.
  God protect, God maintain
Our peoples highest goods,
Gracious Charles and Zita will reign
Beneficially, their hearts full of fire.
Let power and greatness be allocated
To our lands far evermore;
Let salvation come forth, fortune and peace
From Austria's noble pair.
His garlands blooms of spring
Gleam brightly in the sun's splendor;
From the storms harsh raging
Let the angels shield them.
  Der Vorhang wird sich über die furchtbare Welttragödie senken. Die Zuschauer werden erschüttert die Szene verlassen, an ihren häuslichen Herd, an ihr friedliches Tagewerk zurückkehren und oft und wieder an die Schrecken zurückdenken, die sie gesehen, durchlebt und unter denen sie gelitten haben. Gedenken und Rückerschauen wird ihnen nicht genügen. Sie werden zunächst Einkehr in sich selbst halten und die Schlacken ihrer Gefühle, ihres Denkens und Händelns abstreifend das geläuterte Gold des Herzens und des Geistes auf ihre Kinder, die ahnungslosen Zuschauer der Weltkatastrophe, übertragen. Sie werden die Steine des Anstosses?? Hass, Neid, Eigennutz, Gewinn= Ehr= Genuss= Prunk= und Gefallsucht aus ihrem Wege räumen und sie über Abgründe hinweg auf dem Pfade der Wahrheit zum dauernden Frieden führen. Per aspera ad astra.  
  The curtain will descend and cover the dreadful world tragedy. The spectators will leave the scene shattered, return to their domestic hearth, their peaceful day's work, and often and again recall the horror that they witnessed, lived and under which they have suffered. To them remembering and reflecting on the past will not suffice. Initially they will reflect within themselves and then transfer the pure gold of their hearts and minds, stripped of the dross of their feelings, their thoughts and actions, to their children, the unsuspecting spectators of the world catastrophe. They will remove from their road the stones of impulse, hate, envy, egoism and the addiction for acquisition, honor, conspicuous consumption, ostentation and coquettery and lead them over the abyss to the path of truth for everlasting peace. Per aspera ad astra. (Through difficulties to the stars, or through suffering to renown).
