Margarete (Grete) Kann nee Grete Robitschek
Wife of Dr. Eduard Kann (1880-1962); daughter of Emanuel and Elise Robitschek. First name may (?) also be spelled "Marguerit". Lived in China throughout the period of the correspondence. Eduard Kann, as a top adviser to the Chinese Ministry of Finance, ran the Chinese monetary system for decades, leaving China for Hong Kong when the Communists took over in 1949. He was the formost expert on Chinese currency and accumulated a vast collection of coins. His book, The Currencies of China, first published in 1927, is still in print.
